Suggested drives:
North - 1 Day Drive
Sydney - Hornsby
- Wisemans Ferry - Sydney
- Take the Pacific Highway to Hornsby
- Follow through Hornsby on the "old Pacific Highway"
- If you love real winding roads take the Gallstone Gorge
exit
- Otherwise proceed to Mount White for a coffee
- Then all systems go to Wisemans Ferry for lunch at
"The Pub"
- By now you are really relaxed. Put your car on the
punt and cross the Hawkesbury River.
- Now more winding roads back to the M3 Freeway and on
to Sydney

North - 1 Day Drive
Sydney - Northern
Beaches - Sydney
- From Harbour Bridge travelling north take the Mosman
exit
- Follow into Mosman Military Rd. (4.4 km - about 8 mins)
- Drive though Mosman to the large round-a-bout take
the 2nd exit Bradley's Head Rd
- Travel .4km to the Esplanade, drive all the way to
the water
- REMEMBER: When you arrive at a fork in the road, take
the left - right goes to the ferry entrance to the Zoo.
- Driving to Bradley's Head you will notice old ruins
of early Sydney convict built defense; this is Sydney's
oldest defense sight.
- Arriving at the car park and your opportunities alight
and enjoy the view
- There is a lot to see here. The foremast of the cruiser
HMAS Sydney, first ship to engage into battle in WWI,
is mounted on the headland. The headland was also used
for shooting of scenes for mission Impossible II.
- Now back to Mosman, at the round-a-bout turn right
onto Raglan Street. Now follow all the way to Balmoral
Beach. Turn left and drive along the beach (The Esplanade)
A nice picnic spot all the way to the other end.
- Turn Left at Awaba St and drive to the top of the hill.

- Turn right onto Spit Road. Wind you way down to Spit
Bridge. Here you can stop and wonder through the marina
looking at all the beautiful boats moored there.
- Cross the Spit Bridge travel to the top of the hill.
At the lights turn right Sydney Rd
- Follow all the way in to Manly. You will come to a
"T" section. Belgrave St. Turn right, this will
take you down to the Ferry Warf. This is a nice spot to
visit and along to the right is an Aquarium. On your left
is the famous "Corso".
- Parking: Turn left her on to East Esplanade then turn
left again at next comer into Wentworth St. Travel to
end of street Parking is on the left. Lift to the top,
ground level exit and walk to Corso and along the beach
promenade.
- Leaving Manly exit car park turn left and left again
travel along Esplanade. North Steyne is the next beach,
keep driving to a "T" section turn right. Queenscliff
Rd. Follow all the way to the end to see Harbord Beach
and Pools
- Leave car park and turn right follow this road to a
"T" section Turn right at Laurence St. and follow
the road to Curl Curl beach.
- Follow this main road, Griffith Rd it will turn left
on to Howard St at the end and you will turn right onto
Pittwater. This is now the main road that will take you
all the way through the northern beaches to the peninsula
and Palm Beach.

South - 1 Day Drive
Sydney - Moss Vale
- Sydney
- Take the Princess highway South toward Wollongong take
the exit left into the Royal National Park at Sutherland.
- A great drive though with a terrific changes in road
conditions. From winding tropical road to winding mountain
road, high viewing areas and then down to low water crossing.
This drive has it all.
- Finally you will breakout into openness and sunshine
and overlooking the ocean. There is a car parking area
here "Stanwell Tops". You can often watch parasailing
or people jumping off the cliff on Hang Gliders or kites.
- A little further on you will spot a Pub overlooking
the ocean, a nice idea for lunch. Some days they have
a live band playing. Lawrence Hargrave Dr.
- Back on the road again, the road winds down to the new
piece of road built out over the ocean. This is the eastern
most tip of Australia.
- Then you will pass thought quaint little beach side
towns. Stay on the Princess Highway
- At Albion Park turn right. This goes up through Macquarie
pass, Kangaroo Valley and then onto Moss Vale
- You can return home the M5 Freeway or return from whence
you came.
